Fire and water together: sculpted fire bowls, scuppers and flames that glow across the pool at night.
Fire beside water is one of the most dramatic pairings in landscape design. A fire bowl on a raised wall, a flame rising from a scupper or a linear burner along the coping brings warmth and light to the pool after dark, and shimmers in the water.
Most features run on gas with an electronic ignition and a simple switch, with a shutoff for safety. We design the burner, the gas line, the wall and the clearances together and place the feature where it adds drama without crowding seating. We finish with a full safety walk-through, showing you the shutoff valve, the ignition and the controls, and leave written notes on seasonal care. Burners are tested in the evening, because that is when you will use them and when any flame pattern problems are easiest to see.
Fire features can be small and quiet or large and bold. A controller lets you adjust the flame height and turn it on from your phone or a wall switch.
We set clearances from seating, plants and structures, and we plan ventilation and shutoffs. Good placement is the difference between beautiful and uncomfortable.
Fire-and-water bowls combine a spilling basin and a flame. They work well on raised walls and look striking in the evening.
Prevailing wind affects how flames behave and where smoke or heat goes. We study the site and place features accordingly.
